The Grand Orchestre Grande-Rivière will present its annual Symphonie Gastronomique on April 25, transforming École secondaire Grande-Rivière in Aylmer into a celebration of retro music and fine cuisine. The evening promises a blend of orchestral performance, nostalgic ambiance, and community spirit.
This year's edition, themed Ambiance Rétro, will immerse guests in a musical journey through the 1950s to the 1980s. The event begins at 6:30 pm with a five-course gourmet meal prepared by Le St-Estèphe Fin Traiteur, accompanied by a live performance from the orchestra. Later in the evening, the GOGR Big Band will take over for a dance party steeped in vintage flair.
The Grand Orchestre Grande-Rivière is an intergenerational ensemble composed of current students and alumni of École secondaire Grande-Rivière. Under the direction of retired music educator and founder Denise Simard-Lapointe, the orchestra has been a cultural fixture in the region for over five decades.
Guests will also enjoy a curated wine list available at special prices, a silent auction, door prizes, and various draws. Tickets are currently on sale at a discounted price of $110 per person, including taxes and gratuities. The price will rise to $120 after March 1. The event is open to families, couples, and friends looking for a unique night out that pairs music with gastronomy. Tickets are available for purchase through the Grand Orchestre Grande-Rivière’s website at www.grandorchestregranderiviere.com/symphonie-gastronomique-2026
“This is a unique musical and gastronomic experience to celebrate the arrival of spring, whether with family, a partner, or friends,” said Marie-Eve Girard, a member of the orchestra’s organizing team.
